Colours, themes and everything in between

I'm having a white or ivory dress, and the bridesmaids will be in claret. The younger ones are in white and claret. For my wedding flowers, i was having red and cream, and the bridesamids where having a smaller version of mine.

But....people keep telling me I need to choose another colour for my flowers.
A girl i know had brown dresses with pink flowers, another had dark green dresses with orange flowers.

Am i wrong in just having matching colours?
If anyone has any suggestions on what colour would match with the claret please feel free to let me know.

i would say cream and red sounds good to match with claret, the thing is claret is such a strong colour and it would be hard to find a blendable colour ..in my opinion anyway . it sounds to me that you are going down the more traditional road where everything matches which i think looks nice .
ithink you should go with your instinct and what you happy with no body likes the same thing and everyone will say to you "ohh i wouldn't have that " its not their wedding its your so i say have what you want .

i am having an off white dress in between white and ivory , im having white orchids with pink centers and accents of black grass, my main colour scheme is white and pink with black accents , the bridesmaids are in dusky pink with cream feather shawls they are having either pink gerberas or pink and cream heather im not sure yet .
i think picking the colour scheme is the hardest part .

I think your colors are beautiful.. The combination is perfect.. For me, I think you can go what you want coz this is your big day not anyone else.. Go for it and show us the photos..
